Professional Ingrown Nail Treatment
Ingrown nails (also called Onychocryptosis) is a very painful situation where the nails grow towards the sulcus or inner corners of the toe piercing the flesh and becoming embedded.
In most cases, I would treat this by soaking the area, making it softer and more comfortable, and then trim the sides of the nails. I would file down the sides to give myself a clear view of the spike (the piece of nail causing the issue), and then finally trim or pull it away, making sure no nail remnants are left behind.
Once the nail is removed, many of my clients tell me the relief is amazing!
Will it come back?
Everyone is different - some people do tend to be prone to ingrown nails because of their nail shape or their pronation (leaning when walking), but when treated well by a practitioner it should happen less frequently.
